As both a Chartered Engineer and Chartered IT Professional with over 25 years of experience in the data centre sector Mark has been a specialist in the field of data centre operations and technical management for more than 2 decades. During this time he has focussed on the delivery of business critical services from highly reliable, world class data centres with 24×365 availability expectations.

Now operating as an Independent Consultant and Technical Advisor with extensive international experience and solid technical skills combining data centre facilities design, IT and facilities operational management, energy efficiency and engineering expertise to support all facets of the Data Centre Lifecycle.

A regular public speaker, conference host and industry thought leader on data centre technical issues as well as sitting on multiple technical and advisory boards. Mark is also involved in the development of International Data Centre Standards through ISO and CENELEC as the UK national representative as well as being the Technical Editor and Committee Chair of the European Commission Code of Conduct on data centre energy efficiency since 2013.

Jay Paidipati serves as Uptime’s Vice President of Sustainability Program Management, working with organizations on strategies for sustainability planning, implementation, and evaluation. Paidipati has 20 years of experience in the areas of sustainability engineering, implementation, management, and advisory. Prior to Uptime, he oversaw global energy management at IBM, which included a fleet of several hundred data centers. Paidipati worked on renewable energy procurement, energy sourcing, energy conservation planning and implementation, and data collection tools and reporting. Prior to IBM, he was a Director at Navigant Consulting (now called Guidehouse) advising utilities, governments, large buyers, and investors on energy and sustainability.

As Chief Sustainability Officer in Green Mountain, Torkild Follaug is responsible of developing corporate sustainability strategies and coordinating internal and external resources to execute and meet targets and objectives. His background is business development, with 25 years of experience in various roles as advisor, consultant, entrepreneur and investor. He is founder and co-founder of business networks and clusters in Norway, focused on ICT and Cleantech. He has served as expert advisor for the European Commission Horizon 2020 program and has a broad experience in promoting Norwegian tech-SMEs in Europe and USA. Follaug holds an economics degree from BI Norwegian Business School.

Ramzi Charif has more than 25 years of experience in delivering Data Centre and Cloud Infrastructure. He recently joined VIRTUS as VP of Technical Operations EEA, and now leads the team on Technical Operations across new expansion markets in the VIRTUS portfolio, including across the recently announced Berlin Marienpark and Wustermark campuses. Ramzi has a vast experience in steering end-to-end cloud, data centre, and hyperscale infrastructure operations across various global territories and regions with a focus on providing strategic leadership and direction.

Previously he has held key positions at Redbus Interhouse, Telecity and Global Switch before, then leading Huawei in their European Data Centre development journey. Since then, Ramzi joined CapIngelec, leading data centre development in Europe and Africa before more recently directing Cloud Infrastructure Operations and development in France, Germany, Luxembourg and Switzerland for AWS.

With more than 30 years’ experience in the power protection industry, Jason is one of the UK’s foremost experts in his field. He’s designed, delivered, and installed countless low and high-power systems across a broad range of industries, working with several of the country’s biggest data centres, retail businesses, electrical contractors, and public sector organisations.

Jason has played a pivotal role in establishing Riello UPS Ltd as one of the fastest-growing and technically diverse UPS companies in the UK. He is also the co-author of the 300-page technical handbook ‘The Power Protection Guide’.

John Booth is a well-known figure in EU data centre circles, primarily for his role as reviewer for the EU Code of Conduct for Data Centres (Energy Efficiency) (EUCOC)

He is also the chair of the Data Centre Alliance’s (DCA) Energy Efficiency & member of the Sustainability steering group, shaping the DCA’s policy on these topics as well as providing support to the DCA in other steering groups and the Alliance’s wider activities.

He is the Vice Chair of the British Computer Society, Chartered Institute for IT, Green IT specialist group.

He is also the Chair of the BSI TCT7/3 committee that works upon the EN50600 Data Centres Design and Build Standards and ISO/IEC 30134 series of Data Centre KPI’s (PUE ETC).

John also sits on the Advisory Board of the Sustainable Digital Infrastructure Alliance (https://sdialliance.org/) and on the Infrastructure Masons (https://imasons.org/) Sustainability Committee.

He runs his own Green IT consultancy, Carbon3IT Ltd, providing support to organisations that are preparing to adopt various data centre standards including the more general standards such as Quality, Environment, Business Continuity, Information Security, and Energy Management. They also provide specialist niche consultancy in the field of Green IT including Data Centre Energy Efficiency & Sustainability

Carbon3IT Ltd is currently working on a number of data centre carbon footprinting projects for 2 major clients.

John is recently worked with the TIC Council developing audit criteria for the EU Taxonomy regulations.

John was recently received the Data Centre Solutions Magazine “Outstanding contribution to efficiency and sustainability” award for 2023.

BU’s Office of Innovation and Data Center Solutions, a team focused on
spearheading Schneider’s data center, digital energy, and residential
businesses.

In 2023, Steve was named to Capacity Media’s Capacity POWER 100, a list of the “trailblazers, innovators and leaders driving the global digital infrastructure space.” In 2022, he joined the Forbes Technology Council. In 2020, he was named to Data Economy’s Future 100, the top 100 people to watch in the next decade. He is a member of the World Economic Forum’s 5G-Next Generation Networks Programme.

Results-oriented, Steven transforms ideas into products, solutions and
systems. His areas of focus include innovation, AI, hydrogen,
sustainability, 5G and 6G, cloud and edge computing, DCIM, BMS, and
EDMS.

Jonas is Business Development Director – Global Datacentre Solutions at FläktGroup. He holds an MBA from University of Leicester and a BSc (Hons) in Technology and Management from the University of Bradford. He is also a recognised fellow of the Institute of Sales Management. When Jonas is not in a meeting, on a site, on a plane or glued to his laptop; he spends his time enjoying Formula One and trying his best to keep fit.
